Hello coffee world!

Hello everybody,

This is just another coffee blog intending to keep track of significant environmental, economic and social issues of coffee production and consumption arising  on today’s world.

It will serve as a researching tool and I hope it also to be a good source of information for the coffee community. I am personally interested in the specialty coffee sector, but I believe that if we meant to understand its social and environmental consciousness and viability, it is necessary to set it into its specific historical context. In other words, to understand what we can socially and environmentally expect from this sector we need to think it from the social and economic conditions from where it emerge, and this implies to analyze or at least take into account the whole coffee trade system.

From this very general principle I start slowly mapping different sources of information and discussion addressing this kind of issues, in a journey that will probably never arrive to a final answer.
